On-Site Guidelines for A RENAISSANCE OF LOCAL!
Hours of Operation: We are open Friday (11:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.), Saturday (9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.) and Sunday (9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.). The Slow Feast starts at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Children: Children 12 and under are free, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. There is no guard watching your children by the river, please watch them carefully. Keep yourselves and your families hydrated and covered in sun block.
Lost and Found: Items, children, or others lost, can be found at the customs gate located at the entrance of the venue – this is where you paid to get in.
Wristbands: Once placed on, wristbands are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you remove, tear, damage or lose your wristband, we will not replace it without you repurchasing admission for the day.
Handicapped Parking: Handicapped parking is available on-site for those with an authorized handicap parking sticker.
Pets: No dogs or cats are allowed on the venue premises or in the parking lots. If you leave your dog or cat in the car, we will call Animal Control and safely remove your pet by whatever means necessary.
Smoking: Please smoke only in the designated smoking area, which is located near the beach.
Leave at Home: You are not permitted to bring alcohol, glass and video cameras onto the premises.
Recording: Audio recording is generally permitted. However if you see a sign posted in any of the workshop or speaker tents requesting that you do not record a certain speaker, please respect their wishes and turn off your recording device.
Town of Lyons: Please respect our town. Walk the streets, eat, shop and relax. You won’t want to leave. We certainly don’t, so please treat our town and its residents with respect.
Water Bottles: Bring your own water bottle. We encourage attendees to bring their own water bottles and fill up at the designated water stations instead of using the compostable cups provided.
Parking: Parking is $5.00 per car. The fee is considered a carbon offset. Please park in the designated parking lot only, and respect the no parking signs that are posted in town by businesses and residents.
Carpooling: Carpooling to the event saves on gas and is one less car polluting the environment with its emissions. Please try to carpool.
Biking to the Event: Cyclists who bike to the event will receive a discount on their admission. Please lock your bike up in the designated bike racks available near the entrance of the premises. There is no bike valet to ensure the security of your bike, so please lock it up safely.
Recycling: If you are unable to take your recyclables with you, please use the recycling bins located on the premises clearly marked with the blue lids found at resource recovery stations scattered throughout the premises. These Resource Recovery Stations are well marked with bins for recyclables (bottles and cans), organics (food scraps, paper that can be composted), and trash (plastics and things that can’t be recycled or composted). These centers are staffed by the Lyons High School. These containers are color-coded. Green is for composting, Blue is for recycling, and Red is for trash.
Green=Compost: Biodegradable utensils, cardboard (pizza boxes), wax-coated paper cups, fruit, vegetables, paper products (plates, cups, napkins, towels, Kleenex), dairy. NO PLASTIC BAGS.
What is compost? When organic material is turned into hummus by soil microorganisms, composting occurs. Composting takes things like paper plates, fruit and vegetable scraps, leaves, and other organic material and creates a very valuable resource for organic farmers. Instead of taking up space in the landfill, where organic material is not composted but left to emit methane gas (a greenhouse gas), your scraps can be used to replenish the soil, improving plant growth on a nearby farm.
Blue=Recycling: Aluminum (including foil), glass, #1, #2, #5 plastic, cardboard, paper. NO PLASTIC BAGS.
Red=Trash: Plastic bags, Styrofoam, sandwich bags, potato chip bags, diapers, tarps, writsbands, cigarette butts, all plastic except #1, #2, #5, all non-aluminum metal items.

The mission of Post Carbon Institute is to assist communities in the effort to Relocalize and adapt to an energy constrained world. Post Carbon Institute is a think, action and education tank offering research, project tools, education and information to implement proactive strategies to adapt to an energy constrained world. The development of Post Carbon Institute came out of concern for the environmental, social, political and economic ramifications of global over-reliance on cheap energy. Our main response to these concerns is the strategy of Relocalization, which aims to rebuild societies based on the local production of food and energy, and the Relocalization of currency, governance and culture. The main goals of Relocalization are to increase community energy security, strengthen local economies, and dramatically improve environmental conditions and social equity. We work in partnership with: community groups, governments, business, and public and private organizations.

Our beer-blessed home was opened in 1997 and became a brewpub in 1999. Today it plays host to some of the nation's best beers, live blues, and southern and cajun-inspired foods that reflect Dale's southern roots. Our split-level brewpub welcomes Lyons and Boulder locals, high country visitors from across the nation and globe. (Many of them headed for nearby Rocky Mountain National Park and the other high country treasures in our neck of the woods.) What brings them all back? Great beer and food, exceptional bands and Dixie-meets-the-Rockies hospitality. We launched our canning operation in the fall of 2002 with a hand-canning line in the 60-year-old barn next door to our pub. Today it's our pride & joy and makes us The Little Brewery That Cans.

KUNC is a community-licensed public radio station, operated by Community Radio for Northern Colorado, Inc., a 501 (c) 3, Colorado non-profit organization. CRNC came into existence in the winter of 2001 when a group of community volunteers raised $2 million in 20 days to purchase KUNC's license from the University of Northern Colorado and preserve the station's independent voice.
Instrumental in the fundraising campaign were many members of the KUNC listening community, including the KUNC Advisory Board. The Board had existed for many years providing community reaction and guidance to the station staff.
Following the sale of the station to the community group, a Board of Directors was elected which oversees the operation of the station. The KUNC Community Advisory Board continues to provide community insights to the staff in matters of programming, community service and fundraising. Both the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board welcome your comments and concerns.
